ABOUT ME
Yoga for Life
500H RYT Certified Hatha, Raja, Restorative Yoga and Meditation Teacher & Holistic Health and Life Coach

Originally from Finland, as I grew up I felt most at home being surrounded by nature or being engaged in outdoor activities or dancing. Life took me to Canada in my early twenties where I started to practice yoga after a few years of trying to balance stresses of life by running and working out. I studied various different styles of yoga, until eventually taking up my first training in Raja yoga in Iceland in 2013. This month was a life changing experience, creating my practice from a spiritual point of view. Afterwards I continued to study and practice in Stockholm, Sweden and traveled the world, participating in yoga retreats.
Yoga is something that has been a strong defining force in my life, overcoming trauma and helping to deal with living as an immigrant across Canada, Sweden and most recently the US for the past 17 years. In a often new culture and environment, yoga has been the only constant aspect of life which has carried through and made me feel at home.

In 2018, I completed my second 200H training in Hatha with Lauren Toolin, and in 2019 became 500H RYT. I approach teaching from a holistic point of view, incorporating the eternal truth of yoga; union of the body, breath and mind.

In addition to these, I have completed various further modules, including mediation and restorative yoga teacher trainings, and taken courses in Buddhism and Hinduism to better understand these Eastern philosophies.
For the past couple of years I've had the pleasure to teach and manage at Lotus in Troy, NY. And most recently I've started to offer Holistic Health and Life Coaching, which has been a long time passion and interest of mine. When not studying or teaching, I love to hike the Adirondacks or Catskills with my husband and our dog, or spend my time reading or watching anything that feeds my mind and imagination.
